About this Mod
Chest Colorizer
Color-code your chests and barrels to easily distinguish between different types of items stored in them. With this mod, you can use a variety of dyes to assign a specific color to a chest, making it easy to identify what's inside with just a quick glance. Works on all servers!
📁 Installation
- Download and install Fabric for Minecraft 1.21.6.
- Download Chest Colorizer mods.
- Place the downloaded mod file in the "mods" folder located in your Minecraft game directory.
- Launch Minecraft with the Fabric mod loader and enjoy the mod!
⚙️ Usage
- Place a chest in the game world.
- Right-click the chest with a dye to color-code the chest. The color of the dye will be applied to the chest.
- To clear the color of a chest, right-click the chest with paper.
Note: Chest colors are saved on the client-side and will not be visible to other players.

🔧 Compatibility
Chest Colorizer has been tested to work with Sodium. However, it is not compatible with Enhanced Block Entities, and users have reported issues when trying to use these mods together. If you experience any compatibility problems with other mods, please open an issue on our GitHub page.

How to Install Chest Colorizer on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set fabric Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (26.1.2).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Chest Colorizer". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Chest Colorizer server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (26.1.2). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Chest Colorizer compatible with fabric?
Chest Colorizer officially supports fabric for Minecraft 26.1.2, 26.1.1, 26.1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Chest Colorizer – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Chest Colorizer consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
