About this Mod
Chunk Courier
Ever built a long minecart line, only to find your cart stopped halfway because the chunks unloaded?
Chunk Courier fixes that. It automatically keeps chunks loaded around any moving minecart, so your carts complete their journeys whether you're watching or not.
No babysitting. No chunk-loading contraptions. Just reliable, long-distance minecart travel.
How It Works
Chunk Courier listens for minecarts with horizontal movement above a configurable speed threshold. While a cart is moving, it holds a chunk-loading ticket for the surrounding area. The moment it stops or is removed those tickets are released and chunks unload cleanly.
Everything runs server-side, so clients don't need the mod installed.
Installation
- Dedicated server: install Chunk Courier on the server only.
- Singleplayer or LAN host: install Chunk Courier on the host instance.
- Multiplayer clients joining a server that has Chunk Courier do not need the mod installed.
Features
- Chunk loading and unloading tied to minecart movement
- Ticket-based chunk loading via NeoForge — clean and server-authoritative
- Configurable load radius and minimum speed threshold
- All vanilla minecart types supported out of the box
- Multiple carts in the same area are handled independently
- Automatic cleanup on cart removal or world unload
- Stale ticket validation on world restart

Chunk Courier server crashes on startup – what to do?

Chunk Courier officially supports fabric, neoforge for Minecraft 1.21.1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Chunk Courier – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Chunk Courier consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
