About this Mod
CivModern is a mod that provides utility features on the client for Civ-based servers.
It features radar, a macro to hold left (bound to - by default) or right click (bound to = by default), a macro for auto attacking (bound to 0 by default), and a macro for travelling down ice roads (bound to backspace by default). It highlights compacted items, making them easier to spot at a glance. These features can be configured in game by pressing R. The controls can also be modified in your controls screen.
Radar is generally permitted on Civ servers and using it is essentially mandatory in combat. The left click macro is useful for breaking reinforcements without having to hold a key down, and the right click macro is handy for breaking bastions.
Ice roads are one of the fastest methods of transport and the ice road macro will move you down an ice road at the fastest possible speed, while also eating items in your hand automatically, as it is very food-intensive. In addition, it also functions while using boats or horses and essentially holds the forward key for you.

CivModern server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.11). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is CivModern compatible with fabric and forge?
CivModern officially supports fabric, forge for Minecraft 1.21.11, 1.21.8, 1.21.4. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with CivModern – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if CivModern consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
