About this Mod

CobblemonRadiants

CobblemonRadiants adds a rare Radiant variant for shiny Cobblemon Pokémon.

Radiant Pokémon are designed as a special shiny-like variant: rarer than regular shinies, visually distinct, and slightly more valuable to catch without becoming overpowered.

Overview

A Radiant Pokémon is still a shiny Pokémon at its core, but with an additional Radiant identity.

Radiants can appear from shiny Pokémon based on a configurable chance. By default, a shiny has a chance to become Radiant, making Radiants rarer and more rewarding to find.

The goal is simple: make shiny hunting more exciting without turning Radiants into boss forms or unbalanced Pokémon.

Features

  • Adds a new Radiant variant for shiny Cobblemon Pokémon.
  • Radiants keep their shiny appearance.
  • Adds a dedicated radiant aspect.
  • Adds purple star visual effects around Radiant Pokémon.
  • Adds a custom Radiant sound.
  • Adds a Radiant UI badge in the Pokémon summary and PC.
  • Keeps the normal shiny indicator visible.
  • Adds configurable built-in Radiant alerts.
  • Adds optional compatibility behavior with CobbleSpawnAlert Reforged.
  • Adds configurable gameplay bonuses for Radiant Pokémon.
  • Adds admin commands for testing, spawning, and giving Radiant Pokémon.
  • Includes English and French translations.
  • Includes a default configuration file.

Radiant Bonuses

Radiant Pokémon can receive a small configurable quality bonus when they become Radiant.

By default, Radiants receive:

  • 1 guaranteed perfect IV.
  • A small EV bonus.
  • Bonus applied only once.
  • Optional protection against stacking too strongly with Alpha Pokémon.

These bonuses are intentionally lightweight. Radiants are meant to feel more valuable to catch, not to replace normal training or become unfairly stronger than other Pokémon.

Visual Identity

Radiant Pokémon use a purple star theme:

  • Purple star particles.
  • Radiant UI badge.
  • Radiant icon.
  • Shiny icon remains visible.

Radiant is meant to feel like a rare shiny variant, not a boss or legendary form.

Configuration

The config is generated here:

config/CobblemonRadiants/cobblemonradiants.json

A default configuration is also included in the mod resources.

Main configurable options include:

  • Enable or disable the Radiant system.
  • Radiant chance from shiny Pokémon.
  • Radiant visual effects.
  • Built-in alerts.
  • Alert sound.
  • Radiant IV bonus.
  • Radiant EV bonus.
  • Alpha stacking behavior.
  • CobbleSpawnAlert Reforged compatibility behavior.

Compatibility

Required

  • Fabric API
  • Cobblemon

Optional

  • CobbleSpawnAlert Reforged

If CobbleSpawnAlert Reforged is installed, CobblemonRadiants can disable its built-in alerts automatically, depending on the config. This avoids duplicate alert systems on servers using CSAR.

Notes

CobblemonRadiants does not replace Cobblemon’s shiny system.

Radiant Pokémon are intended to be:

  • Shiny-based.
  • Rarer than normal shinies.
  • Visually unique.
  • Slightly more valuable to catch.
  • Configurable for servers.

They are not intended to be overpowered boss Pokémon.
