About this Mod

With Cobblemon Shiny Rarities, Pokemon can have their normal and shiny forms, but in addition, can have their "rare" and "epic" shiny variants. Variants are additional palette swaps of existing Pokémon that are rarer than regular shinies. Every time you get a shiny pokemon spawn, it has a 60% chance to be its normal shiny, a 30% chance to be a rare shiny, and a 10% chance to be an epic shiny.
This mod is based on the PokeRogue shiny rarity system, and many of the textures are inspired by it. However, there are some colourings that are completely unique to this addon.
What is implemented so far?
So far we have implemented shiny variants for all base cobblemon in generations 1-7. Additionally, some pokemon from later generations are also implemented, such as starters, regionals, or those who's pre-evolutions come from earlier generations. In future, we plan to add pokemon from generations 8 and 9, as well as those added by the cobblemon team in future, with aspirations of supporting some popular addons aswell.
Want to contribute?
As a team of two, we have so far implemented all of the textures and json ourselves, as you can imagine this has been a massive workload given only one of us has been on the art side. If you wish to contribute, we have a guideline for how to do so, which is as follows:
When creating shiny rarity textures, we always consult the PokeRogue Shiny List for the palettes that we use. We advise that you use this for the highest chance of getting your shiny accepted. However, you can feel free to make your own designs too, if we feel they are good to be added to, or replace one, from our roster, we will gladly accept them. Here is our submission form for Custom Shinies
Known Incompatabilities
We unfortunately cannot guarentee compatability with all other cobblemon addons, as some of them change the models of pokemon that are found in base cobblemon, which means our textures won't map correctly.
The current incompatabilities are:
PARTIALCobblemon 1.6: Certain models got updated for cobblemon 1.7, and with those, their textures changed too. Our textures are based on the updated models, therefore you may encounter some issues with certain pokemon.PARTIALCobblemon Mega Showdown: This mod overwrites certain pokemon models, like rayquaza, which causes issues with our textures applying. additionally, the mega and gmax forms of pokemon, currently use our shiny form textures, due to the texture priority system.MINORSky's Radiant Shinies: The chance for a shiny to be radiant is independent to our chance for a pokemon to have a rare or epic shiny. this means a pokemon can be both a radiant shiny, and a rare/epic shiny. These pokemon use our textures, but have the radiant shiny particles.
We aim to, in the future, contact and work with the developers of any incompatable addons, to make sure that the mods have the best combined user experience.
