Combatlog
An attempt to prevent people from logging out while in combat
About this Mod
This mod tries to prevent people from combat logging on a server. After a player is hit by another player, both of them have a configurable countdown assigned to them. If either of them leaves before that countdown is over, they are killed and all of their items are dropped on the ground.
Features
- Customizable Combat Timer – Set how long players stay in combat.
- Damage Source Control – Choose if combat triggers from players, mobs, or all damage.
- Restrict Movement Items – Disable elytra flight and ender pearl use during combat.
- Command Blacklist – Block specific commands (like
/home) while in combat. - Fully Customizable Messages – Change every alert and death message.
- Disconnect Punishment – Choose to kill the player or run a command if they log out in combat.
All settings are configured in the config/combatlog-common.json5 file. If you are updating from an old version and the new options are missing, deleting this file will generate a fresh one with the latest defaults.
You only need the mod on the server, but it does not hurt to have it on your client in case you want to open to LAN or use it in a singleplayer world.
Feel free to use in your modpack.

Combatlog server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.11). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Combatlog compatible with fabric and forge and neoforge?
Combatlog officially supports fabric, forge, neoforge for Minecraft 1.21.11, 1.21.10, 1.21.9. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Combatlog – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Combatlog consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
