About this Mod

Feeling like you need to have control over what commands players are using on your server? Need to destroy that nasty repeating command block sending /kill @e?

Command Spy

Gradle Build
Discord

A mod that logs commands, executed by players, command blocks and signs to console / players. Additionally, position of executor block and player uuid is appended as well.

Features

Supports blacklisting commands.
Messages can be customised / disabled via generated config.

Permissions

CommandSpy supports LuckPerms.
If the mod is loaded, logToOps will be redundant - instead, mod will check if players
have the permission to receive info about commands being executed.

  • commandspy.log.command_blocks -> this player will receive info of command blocks executing the command
  • commandspy.log.signs -> this player will receive info of signs executing the command
  • commandspy.log.players -> this player will receive info of players executing the command

Oh, this icon ... Terrible!
Current icon is more of a placeholder and I'd love to change it for something nicer! DM me if you have one!

Frequently Asked Questions

CommandSpy server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is CommandSpy compatible with fabric and quilt?

CommandSpy officially supports fabric, quilt for Minecraft 1.20, 1.19.3, 1.19.1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with CommandSpy – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if CommandSpy consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
