Compressed Pollution
An api for mod packs providing a simple but robust pollution system
About this Mod
Most pollution APIs provide very little customization when it comes to how pollution works, only creating a single number behind the scenes to dictate how "polluted" a world is and providing limited control over what causes it.
This API tries to set itself apart by giving near full control over how many different types of pollution there are and how it's caused. It handles many base forms of item destruction and allows them to cause pollution based on what was destroyed.
This API allows for the use of datapack entries to specify what causes different types of pollution. Documentation on how to use them, as well as how to expand what the API is capable of, is found in the docs folder in the GitHub repository.
Mod Developers, please do not directly provide compatibility for the sake of my sanity. If you want to add compat, make a PR so it's all in one place, please

Compressed Pollution server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong forge version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Compressed Pollution compatible with forge?
Compressed Pollution officially supports forge for Minecraft 1.20.1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Compressed Pollution – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Compressed Pollution consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
