About this Mod

This mod is very small and simple, you can right click a block (any block) with Magma Cream and it will "cream" that block. This will cause the game to not be able to lay snow on that block.
To "un-cream" a block, you simply right-click it with an axe and it will remove the cream.

This does not come with any visual difference, however when you are near the block and holding magma cream in your hand, it will render a magma cream above that block in the world.

This mod also comes with some commands that let you interact with the creamed blocks. These are:

  • /creamedblocks query [x] [y] [z] (This command allows you to see whether a block at a specific position is creamed.)

  • /creamedblocks reload (This command will reload all of the creamed blocks in your current dimension, this will only be useful if there happens to be a desync.)

  • /creamedblocks set [true/false] [x] [y] [z]
(This command allows you to set (true) and remove (false) a block to/from being creamed.)

  • /creamedblocks reset (This command will reset all of the creamed blocks (currently globally but eventually per dimension))

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20.4). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is Creamed Blocks compatible with fabric and forge?

Creamed Blocks officially supports fabric, forge for Minecraft 1.20.4, 1.20.3. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with Creamed Blocks – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Creamed Blocks consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
