About this Mod
Create:Proximity
Create:Proximity is an add-on that introduces two new blocks Andesite Player Detector and Brass Player Detector which let you detect nearby players based on rotational speed. Perfect for security systems, automatic doors, or creative Redstone contraptions!
Key Features
Dynamic Detection Range
- Provide rotational power to either detector, and it will output a Redstone signal if a player is within range.
- Range scales with speed, peaking at 32 blocks when running at 128 RPM.
- Exceeding 128 RPM actually reduces the range because the radar dish spins too fast.
Andesite Player Detector
- Straightforward: just give it rotational power, and it detects players within range.
- While wearing Engineer’s Goggles, you’ll see stats like current detection range and stress impact
Brass Player Detector
- Similar to the andesite version but includes a UI.
- Right-click to open the interface and add player names to a list.
- Toggle between whitelist or blacklist mode.
- Whitelist mode: only listed players within range trigger the detector.
- Blacklist mode: all players except those listed trigger the detector.
- Engineer’s Goggles show detection range, stress impact, and any players on its whitelist/blacklist.

Is Create: Proximity compatible with fabric and forge and neoforge?
Create: Proximity officially supports fabric, forge, neoforge for Minecraft 1.21.1, 1.20.1. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Create: Proximity – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 6 GB (per 5 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Create: Proximity consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
