About this Mod
This mod is a port of Vampycat237's Cruelty-Free Slimeballs datapack (license).
Finding slimes to loot slimeballs is annoying, but it doesn't have to be this way! Introducing Cruelty-Free Slimeballs, a mod that makes slimeballs craftable.
It adds three recipes to the game, based on carrageenan, pectin, and xanthan gum.
Xanthan gum recipe:

Wheat can be replaced by sugar cane or a bucket of milk.
Carrageenan recipe:

Tested with Fabric API 0.91.0+1.20.1
This mod is provided "as is". It should technically work on all 1.20.X versions of the game. I am not planning to update/backport this mod to a different version of Minecraft. You're free to do so yourself, however.

How to Install Cruelty-Free Slimeballs on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set fabric Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (1.20.1).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Cruelty-Free Slimeballs". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Cruelty-Free Slimeballs server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Cruelty-Free Slimeballs compatible with fabric?
Cruelty-Free Slimeballs officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.20.1, 1.20. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Cruelty-Free Slimeballs – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Cruelty-Free Slimeballs consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
