About this Mod

CYS — Cure Your Self
Now with Curios compatibility!
Tired of your items burning up in lava or despawning when you die? Well now your items can be saved from destruction because they're stored in a corpse. But unlike other gravestone mods, this time your corpse will re-awaken as a zombie, which you will have to kill to retrieve your items.
How It Works
When you die, a zombie spawns at your location wearing your, now green, skin and displaying your name. This zombie holds everything in your inventory and your experience(configurable), and will drop it when it's killed.
To stop the zombie from burning in lava (which would defeat the whole point), it is immune to all damage except from players. Only a player can kill it. Once killed, it drops its full inventory and grants its stored experience directly to the killer.
Hardcore Mode
When hardcore mode is enabled, another living player on the server can locate the zombie and cure it (just like curing a zombie villager) to revive the dead player — teleporting them back into survival at the zombie's location with their full inventory restored. This can be disabled in config.
Peaceful Mode
There is also functionality for peaceful mode which has to be enabled through the config. The only difference from normal mode is that the zombie will simply not attack the player.
Configuration
This mod is highly configurable, using neoforge's config system and a custom fabric config, you can turn on/off the hardcore/peaceful mode or just the mod in general. You can also control the zombie's immunity and what happens to your experience when you die. The experience switch has 3 states:
- NONE: The experience will be dropped like default when a player dies.
- STORE_PARTIAL: The experience that would have dropped when a player died will now be stored in the zombie.
- STORE_FULL: ALL experience the player had are stored in the zombie and can be retrieved without losing it.
Compatibility
The mod is now compatible with Curios.
But other incompatibilities with other gravestone mods and inventory extending mods may appear. I'm open to fixing any compatibility issues on my part when I get the time so please report any you find in the Issues tab above.
