About this Mod
Overview
Deep Drilling is an addon to Create that adds rare "Ore Nodes" throughout the world, yielding different resources based on the biome.

Boulders of crimsite (iron), veridium (copper), ochrum (gold), and asurine (zinc) respectively
Construct large drills, augment them with modules and drill heads, then fuel your factory with unlimited resources extracted from the very center of the earth!

Minimise the upkeep cost of replacing heads, obtain only building blocks, or maximise SPEED
Features
- Ore Nodes generate in the world
- Each variant appears in only specific biomes
- This encourages exploration and the creation of multiple outposts to exploit each type
- A new specialised Drill
- The only tool powerful enough to exploit these Ore Nodes
- Requires kinetic power and...
- ... Drill Heads
- Each one has differing durabilities, speeds, resource qualities, and production costs
- Andesite is inexpensive and easily automatable without drilling, but slow
- Copper is very fast with more durability, but can only produce building blocks
- Brass is fast with a high amount of durability and better resource output, but costs a lot to produce
- Drill Heads can be improved with fortune, efficiency, and unbreaking enchantments
- Attach Modules for even more output
- Up to 5 can be placed onto a drill at once
- The Collection Filter is a near necessity, preventing drops from spewing onto the ground
- The Sludge Pump allows Drill Heads to function faster while taking less damage, but loses quality drops to wasteful Sludge
- The Drill Overclock greatly increases drilling speed but causes Drill Heads to take more damage
- (definitely more to come: nuance and options are cool, objective metas are boring)

Deep Drilling server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 4 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Deep Drilling compatible with fabric and forge?
Deep Drilling officially supports fabric, forge for Minecraft 1.20.1. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Deep Drilling – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 6 GB (per 5 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Deep Drilling consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
