Drawing Datapack

This datapack adds Paint which can be used to draw things in 3D!

How to use

To get Paint, you need to drop any dye on a crafting table. This will create a Paint item of the same color.

To use Paint, you need to hold the item and press F (to move it to your offhand). This will start drawing 4 blocks away from you. You can move around and rotate your camera to form shapes and lines!

To get an Eraser, just drop an Iron Ingot on the crafting table. Then, you can hold it and press F again to remove paint in front of you. The radius of the eraser is around one block.

How to Install Drawing on Your Server

Order Server

Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).

Set datapack Loader

In the panel under "Egg", select the datapack loader and matching Minecraft version (1.19.3).

Install Mod

Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Drawing". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Drawing server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong datapack version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.19.3). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is Drawing compatible with datapack and fabric and forge and quilt?

Server lagging with Drawing – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Drawing consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
