About this Mod
More Mob Variants
Based on the original More Mob Variants, ported to work with latest Minecraft.
Same open-source license!
Minecraft Fabric mod that adds new visual variants to existing mobs (cats, chickens, cows, pigs, sheep, wolves, zombies, skeletons, spiders). Variants are persistent and synced for all players. Requires the mod on both client and server. Supports Minecraft 1.21.11 with Fabric.
For the Forge version, visit this page.
Installation
This mod features persistent variant skins for all players, as opposed to client-side reskins that can differ from person to person.
As a result, however, this means that this mod must be installed both server-side and client-side to work.

Extra Mobs server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.11). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Extra Mobs compatible with fabric?
Extra Mobs officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.21.11. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Extra Mobs – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Extra Mobs consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
