About this Mod

I made this because I don't like waiting for a lot of items to smelt, especially when I'm out exploring.

With this datapack/mod, smelting on Furnace, Blast Furnace, Smoker, and Campfire takes only 1 game tick per item. This means Blast Furnace and Smoker are pretty much redundant since regular Furnace now smelt just as fast. And it works with all smeltable items.

📝 NOTES

You only need to download one. Choose either the datapack or the mod version, whichever is more convenient for you.

Fabric/Forge/NeoForge mods all in one JAR file. If you use Fabric Loader, the mod also requires Fabric API. And feel free to use it in your modpack.

⚠️ When you load the datapack, it might says "incompatible" but it will still works.
⚠️ Minecraft Snapshot support only works on Fabric Loader.

How to Install Fast Smelt on Your Server

Order Server

Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).

Set datapack Loader

In the panel under "Egg", select the datapack loader and matching Minecraft version (26.2-snapshot-5).

Install Mod

Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Fast Smelt". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Fast Smelt server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong datapack version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (26.2-snapshot-5). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is Fast Smelt compatible with datapack and fabric and forge and neoforge?

Fast Smelt officially supports datapack, fabric, forge, neoforge for Minecraft 26.2-snapshot-5, 26.2-snapshot-4, 26.2-snapshot-3. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with Fast Smelt – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Fast Smelt consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
