About this Mod

Warning

The mod is very unstable, as it requires a complete rewrite of the code. At the moment I'm working on another mod, so when the opportunity arises, FeyFriends will be rewritten. However, I will continue to update the mod for new versions of Minecraft.

FeyFriends

The mod shows the number of players from certain groups on the screen, default - in the left top corner. If desired, you can turn on the sound of notifications when the number of players changes, display the full list of players, etc. To customize the display of groups and notifications, use the GUI (default button is "H") ((NOT THE MODMENU BUTTON)). The mod also adds a keybind to display the full list of online players and their number in the chat (default - "J"); keybind for displaying all categories and players in them in the chat (default - "O").

Since version 0.4.0, you can use the /feyfriends <args> command instead of the GUI to edit groups.

How to Install FeyFriends on Your Server

Order Server

Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).

Set fabric Loader

In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (1.20.2).

Install Mod

Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "FeyFriends". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Frequently Asked Questions

FeyFriends server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20.2). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is FeyFriends compatible with fabric?

FeyFriends officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.20.2, 1.20.1, 1.20. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with FeyFriends – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if FeyFriends consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
