About this Mod

Float-Blocks

Float Blocks adds functions that allow you to place blocks off of the grid. The blocks have hitboxes made from shulkers, so there is a command that allows you to apply the glowing effect to all shulkers that are part of an off-grid block (a float-block). You can also use a chat UI to kill a certain amount of float-blocks. You can also use it to give you spawn eggs that summon blocks, although the blocks are not off-grid because mobs automatically spawn in the middle of the block you place them on. You can place them on slabs to make them a half block higher or lower than normal though.

Frequently Asked Questions

Float Blocks server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong datapack version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.19.3). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is Float Blocks compatible with datapack and fabric and forge and quilt?

Float Blocks officially supports datapack, fabric, forge, quilt for Minecraft 1.19.3, 1.19.2, 1.19.1. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with Float Blocks – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Float Blocks consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
