Forgotten Chunks

Forgotten Chunks is a Fabric mod that creates a dynamic, self-regenerating world system for Minecraft.

Every chunk where the player interacts is marked as permanent and protected.

Forgotten and unused chunks are automatically removed from the world and regenerated later, allowing for virtually infinite exploration without permanently increasing the size of the save file.

Features:

Automatically protects chunks where players:

-break blocks
-use items
-interact with blocks
-attack blocks

Other features:

-Protected chunks are never deleted.
-Abandoned chunks enter an automatic cleanup queue.
-The mod removes actual chunk data from .mca region files.
-When the area is visited again, Minecraft naturally regenerates the chunk using the world seed.

Safety system:

The mod will NOT remove:

-chunks near protected structures
-chunks near players
-loaded chunks

Ideal for:

-long-term survival worlds
-exploration-focused gameplay
-servers with storage limits
-self-regenerating infinite worlds

Compatibility:

-Minecraft 1.21.11
-Fabric Loader
-Fabric API
-Java 21

Installation:

1. Install Fabric Loader
2. Install Fabric API
3. Place the mod inside the mods folder

Important Note:

This mod directly modifies Minecraft region files (.mca).

Always back up important worlds before using the mod.
