Improving server loading speed by freezing the tickrate
About this Mod
Mod Description
This mod is an addon for Multiplayer Server Pause.
It is designed to assist newly joined players by temporarily freezing the server TickRate, helping improve server loading performance.
- Teleports players to WorldSpawn
- Uses the
/pausecommand from Multiplayer Server Pause to temporarily pause the server - Recommended setup: place WorldSpawn around ~200 blocks high and create a small lobby there with a command block to teleport players down once loading is complete
Requires:
Multiplayer Server Pause
Commands
/ready
Used when a player (usually a newly joined player) has finished loading.

Freezes the entire server TickRate.
This command is inspired by Multiplayer Server Pause.
Note: TickRate freezing affects the entire server, not just the executing player.

Freezing Server server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong forge version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Freezing Server compatible with forge?
Freezing Server officially supports forge for Minecraft 1.20.1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Freezing Server – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Freezing Server consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
