About this Mod
GaiaTweaks is a highly configurable mod that adds quality of life features, reworks, tweaks, bug fixes, and mod interactions.
Vanilla Tweaks
- Decreases the delay to "tempt" an animal with their favorite food after you stopped holding it
- A sword parrying mechanic for projectiles. To do it, simply block your sword right before the projectile hits you
- Option to tweak the spawn weight/frequency of endermen
- Option to change how many blocks travelled in the nether are equivalent to in the overworld
- Backports 1.8+ item frame behaviour, allowing you to rotate items in 45 degrees (this is compatible with Botania's corporea blocks btw)
- Skeletons now visually pull their arrows before shooting
- Adds a button for accessing the Achievements menu to your inventory (also a keybind)
- Option to limit witches to spawning only in the Swampland biome, as opposed to every biome
- Food items can give configurable buffs when eaten (a few food items by default)
- Food items can be configured to have their eating speed halved (melon slices and spider eyes by default)
- Option to disable village generation
- Adds an optional stamina system that replaces the vanilla hunger system (deplenishes when running and slowly replenishes when walking/standing still; both health and stamina replenish when eating food)
Backported Mod Features
- Climb ladders faster by looking upwards, from Quark
- Underground biomes for sandy biomes, sandy biomes, lush biomes, etc (also Quark) [currently the only option for this feature is to disable it]
- Reversal ladder and slab recipes (also 8 stair output recipes and three block stair recipes that craft 4 stair blocks) [also Quark x2]
- Adds head slot to Baubles Expanded and allows the Goggles of Revealing from Thaumcraft to be worn in it (requires Baubles Expanded)
- Removes XP repair cost of unenchanted items and materials always repair tools by a third of their max durability, adapted from Lumberwizard's Anvil Patch
Mod Tweaks & Fixes
- The Aether:

- Option to limit Greatwood trees to overworld
- Configurable biome blacklist for Greatwood tree generation (includes only Roofed Forests by default)

GaiaTweaks server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong forge version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.7.10). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is GaiaTweaks compatible with forge?
GaiaTweaks officially supports forge for Minecraft 1.7.10. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with GaiaTweaks – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if GaiaTweaks consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
