Recreating Old Games into Minecraft

Description

GameBlocks Currently adds two new blocks. A chessboard and a checkerboard. Both crafted in a grid patter with dark oak and spruce pressure plates and spruce and oak pressure plates.
Craft Calcite and Deepslate for a Sack that contains game pieces. Right-click on a board to fill that boards pieces.
Then shift-right-click to reset the board.

Currently, there are no settings yet to change rules and whether to show tooltips however they are planned in the future.

Issues

This mod is still in beta so expect some bugs, if you have encountered any or have some feedback, go to the GitHub issues page.

Translations

I currently have US and GB and NL translations.
If you want to help, that is great, however to avoid mistakes I will need people to confirm the translations.
Thus, since I don't want to deal with that hassle I cannot confirm I will actually add new translations at this time.

How to Install GameBlocks on Your Server

Order Server

Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).

Set fabric Loader

In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (1.18.1).

Install Mod

Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "GameBlocks". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

GameBlocks server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.18.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is GameBlocks compatible with fabric?

Server lagging with GameBlocks – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if GameBlocks consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
