About this Mod
Summary
This data pack will turn Cobblemon into a relatively Gen 1 experience. No extra forms, no extra evolutions, only Gen 1 pokemon.
Ancient Pokéballs & Held Items remain unchanged, but can be easily modified within the data pack.
Known Incompatibilities
Riding
- Some rideable traits of some cobblemon are not fully implemented in Cobblemon and therefore not rideable with this datapack either.
- Once these are completed within Cobblemon, they will be added to the datapack as well.

- The mod seems to search for all pokemon during an egg spawn, but the gen1ify removes most, leading to a crash
Updating
For any patches/updates I make, just replace the datapack file in your world folder with the new one. For the mod, replacing the mod should work fine.

How to Install gen1ify for Cobblemon on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set datapack Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the datapack loader and matching Minecraft version (1.21.1).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "gen1ify for Cobblemon". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Most common cause: wrong datapack version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is gen1ify for Cobblemon compatible with datapack and fabric and forge and neoforge and quilt?
gen1ify for Cobblemon officially supports datapack, fabric, forge, neoforge, quilt for Minecraft 1.21.1, 1.21. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with gen1ify for Cobblemon – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if gen1ify for Cobblemon consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
