[WIP] early development

disclaimer:
The mod is designed for a casual signle player/coop experience, pvp balancing is non existant.
The mods code has been writen to large parts by Ai.
Ai has not been used for any other part of the process.

About Gestalten:

What is a Gestalt?

A Gestalt is a invasive soul you'll have to implant into a mob, harvest and awaken within yourself.
After you successfully obtained a Gestalt, it acts as your own personal guardian and traversal tool.
But the Gestalt is depending on your well being, if you as a host are too weak the Gestalt will not be able to manifest. Make sure to keep yourself well fed to provide the Gestalt with enough energy, otherwise they might crash out.

How do I get one?

In game you will find a instruction book eihter in the bonus chest or in chests near ruined nether portals, this book will have most information you'll need.
(otherwise read the spoiler section)
The Gestalt you awaken will depend on the mob you choose to use your fragile soul vessel on.

Controls:

every key has a crouch and r-click variant

G - to call and dismiss your awoken Gestalt.
(crouch tap for info screen, hold for exp siphon)

Z - first power tier

X - second power tier

C - third power tier

(your available powers depend on your Gestalts lvl)

(rebindable in key config)

(The info screen shows unlocked skins and currently available powers by lvl, with tool tips)

Ledge Grab - Press jump when looking at a ledge mid air

Gestalt Thorw - jump when crouching to get a boost

Wall Slide - crouch in mid air when touching a wall

Soul Projection - Pressing G when holding Guard lets the Gestalt rip out your soul and enabeling you to reach a short distance away from your body.
Your real body is vulnerable during this and you'll get snapped back when your body is hit or your hunger gets too low.
You can end this mode by either right clicking your body or Guard G again as an emergency exit.
How far you can move away from your body is determined by your Gestalts RNG stat.

How to get a Gestalt

Craft a brush > brush crying obsidian > cook the nether tear > combine the resonant powder with an amethyst on an anvil > use the empty soul vessel on any type of soul fire > use the fragile soul vessel on a mob > kill said mob > wait till the dormant Gestalt drained 15 lvls from you > Gestalt awakens

unlocking contitions:

1 - default

2 - 4 simple recolors available right away

5 biome - visit a gestalt specific biome

6 trial - loot a trial vault

7 penrose - pick up a chorus flower

8 warden - kill warden

9 glitch - have a gestalt crash out 50 times

10 - first time reaching gestalt lvl 15

"done" means all powers are a functioning state, all assests finished and a Gestalt specific book that explains how to use its powers.

About the Mod:

The mod is designed in a way so you'll have to intentionally engage with it, I do not want to clutter your inventory with useless items you'll use once and never again.
the only exception will be titorial and lore books you can find through archaeology.
These books can be disposed off by useing them as fuel in a furnace (burns 3 items).

The first of these books can be found in the bonus chest and in chests next to a ruined nether portals. This book should give you a good idea of how to obtain and use your gestalt without reading the spoiler section.

Why did I make the mod?

I made this mostly for myself.
I really like the concept of having a stand but I kinda don't need the JoJo flavor in minecraft.
Few JoJo mods focus on the stand concept exclusively and are either outdated or add a whole bunch of random JoJo related items, I just simply wanted to create a more focused experience.
IF you are not bothered by the JoJo flavor tho I can whole heartedly recommend the two mods Ripples of the Past and Roundabout the JoJo mod, they're honestly way more feature complete and vastly more refined than this is ever planned to be.
