About this Mod

This is the perfect spot for a Goodwill!

This mod adds Goodwills around your Minecraft worlds, each of which contain a unique range of donated items for you to discover. Each Goodwill has a different stock in its donation chests, ranging from old clothing to ancient relics.

As per request, this mod also adds random hot dog stands, and ice cream stands on the beaches.

A datapack version is now available for 1.20.3, 1.20.4, 1.20.5, and 1.20.6
Bring the Goodwill experience to Vanilla
Note: the 1.20.5-1.20.6 install versions have a separate resource pack included with it that should be installed alongside this version in order for it to look right, see the readme inside. The assets are included in the 1.20.3-1.20.4 versions already.

The datapacks should be installed at world generation. Go to datapacks > Open Pack Folder, and copy and paste the folder called "Goodwill Structures" into that folder, not the zip.

How to Install Goodwill Structures on Your Server

Order Server

Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 4 GB RAM (6 GB recommended).

Set datapack Loader

In the panel under "Egg", select the datapack loader and matching Minecraft version (1.20.6).

Install Mod

Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Goodwill Structures". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Goodwill Structures server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong datapack version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 4 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20.6). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is Goodwill Structures compatible with datapack and fabric and forge?

Goodwill Structures officially supports datapack, fabric, forge for Minecraft 1.20.6, 1.20.5, 1.20.4. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with Goodwill Structures – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 6 GB (per 5 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Goodwill Structures consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
