About this Mod
You've probably already seen a bajillion gravestone mods, I know I have.
So... this might not be the most original concept, but I believe this implementation to be better than most.
With this pack:
- When a player dies, their items are moved into their gravestone, rather than flying out everywhere.
- The gravestone is placed at their feet and can be made of a random stone material. (configurable)
- The gravestone will display the player's name, and the in-game day they died. (also configurable)
- Items can be retrieved from a gravestone by hitting it, the items will be removed one at a time.
- The gravestone will remain until broken fully (hitting it rapidly for a moment), if a gravestone is broken, it will drop all of it's stored items.
This datapack doesn't require a resource pack, and can be dropped in at any point. There are no required or locked gamerules, and this datapack will respect your gamerule settings such as Keep Inventory.
Don't ask for backports to versions prior to 1.19.4, as this datapack requires item and text display entities to function properly. This datapack should be forward-compatible.

Grave server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong datapack version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Grave compatible with datapack and fabric and forge and quilt?
Grave officially supports datapack, fabric, forge, quilt for Minecraft 1.20, 1.19.4. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Grave – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Grave consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
