About this Mod

Homespun

Homespun is a smallish mod that aims to add features that have a simple and home made feeling to them, inspired by pre industrial things around the world. Currently it focuses on agriculture and decoration but in the future it may branch out.

all the blocks and items as of 0.5.0

The features

These are an overveiw of the features currently in the mod, more are sure to come!

  • Ironwood! a decorative tree type with a rough peachy tone, and may have sneaky usage for the engineers out there ;). It can be found in plains, swamp, forest, and jungle biomes.
  • Olive! a decorative tree type with a orange hue reminiscent of a mediterranean sunset. It can be found in plains and savannas.
  • Olive and ironwood mosaics. To line up with the bamboo mosaics added in 1.20 and to give you more variation in your plains of planks.
  • Gold and Copper decorative blocks, such as chains, to add regal and mechanical options to your metalic decorating.
  • Copper nuggets, to help in crafting of blocks.
  • Calcite bricks and Tuff tiles! finally, calcite and tuff have decorative blocks! that also come in the form of slabs, stairs, and walls.
  • Stone pillars. finally! you can support your buildings with something other than logs.
  • Crushing tub. Put stuff in and jump on it! get lots of excersize and some funky resources with this block.
  • Evaporating Basin. Dries fluids into items!
  • Iron and Wood Posts. thin posts that gain a lip when a non post block is placed above them, I think they look nice for lamp posts. Can be rotated in the direction of each axis
  • Redstone Acid. Can be used for weathering blocks like copper.
  • Wrought Tiles & Cut Wraught Tiles. These blocks can be made with iron and are designed to line up in colour with other decorative iron blocks. They come in the form of blocks, stairs, slabs, and walls.
  • A fancy item storage, Ceramic vessels! These pots come in 7 variants (1 blank and 6 pride themed patterns). They can store 12 stacks of items and can be broken and carried with items stored.
  • A new revolutionary fluid storage block, the Rundlet! Using revolutionary ironwood technology these vessels can store any fluid in a stationary and portable form.

Frequently Asked Questions

Homespun server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong forge version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 4 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.19.2). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is Homespun compatible with forge?

Homespun officially supports forge for Minecraft 1.19.2. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with Homespun – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 6 GB (per 5 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Homespun consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
