About this Mod
HotbarCycle
📖 About
Adds Stardew Valley-inspired hotbar cycling to navigate your inventory without ever opening it!
This mod adds 2 new keybinds:
- Swap Hotbar (Default 'H'):
- Shifts all your inventory rows downwards, allowing you to cycle through each row.
- Swap Slot (Default 'J'):
- Shifts a single column of your inventory downwards (the hotbar slot you have selected)
Additionally, there is Hold-and-Scroll mode:
Instead of clicking a keybind to cycle the hotbar/slot, hold the button and use your scroll-wheel to cycle!
There are also config options for reversing the cycle order, enabling sounds, and enabling individual rows/columns for cycling through mod menu + cloth config.
💡 Installation

This mod is client-side! It will work on any server you join even if the server doesn't have it.

HotbarCycle server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is HotbarCycle compatible with fabric?
HotbarCycle officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.21, 1.20, 1.19.4. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with HotbarCycle – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if HotbarCycle consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
