HotbarLoader
Save and load hotbars in Survival with customizable keybind combos (e.g. H + J to save, K + J to load). Missing items are simply skipped.
About this Mod
HotbarLoader lets you quickly save your current hotbar and restore it later—no menus, no commands.
Features
- Two fully configurable keybinds: Save Hotbar and Load Hotbar (change them in Minecraft’s Controls menu)
- Pick a hotbar preset by pressing a second key: e.g. H + 1 or H + J to save, K + 1 or K + J to load
- When loading, only uses items that actually exist in your inventory (missing items are skipped)
- If the same item appears multiple times, it prefers the largest available stacks and tries to consolidate them into a full stack when possible
- Client-side storage (per installation), no server mod required
How to use
- Save: hold your save key and press a second key (e.g. H + 1 / H + J)
- Load: hold your load key and press the same second key (e.g. K + 1 / K + J)
- Note: Loading only works when no GUI is open and your cursor stack is empty.
Compatibility
- Fabric, client-only
- Minecraft 1.21.x (this project is currently set up for 1.21.11)

HotbarLoader officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.21.11, 1.21.10, 1.21.9. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with HotbarLoader – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if HotbarLoader consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
