About this Mod

IP Finder Mod

Overview

IP Finder is a

Minecraft client mod that helps you quickly see the server address and port you're currently connected to. Whether you joined via a domain name like "example.com" or a direct IP

address, the mod displays the connection details in your chat.

Features

• Automatically shows the server address and port when you join a server

• Displays addresses in a readable format like "example.com:25565" instead of just numbers

• Includes a /ipfinder chat command to show the server address at any time

• Shows the actual connection port (accounts for SRV records and redirects)

How to Use

1. Automatic Display: When you join a server, the mod automatically shows a message in chat with the server address and port.

2. Manual Command: Type /ipfinder in chat at any time while playing to see the server address again.

3. Format: The address is shown as "hostname:port" – for example, "example.com:25565" or "play.server.net:12345".

Tips & Tricks

• If you connect via a domain name, the mod will keep showing that domain (not the numeric IP), making it easier to remember.

• The displayed port is the actual connection port, which may differ from the default Minecraft port (25565) due to server configurations.

• Use the /ipfinder command if you miss the automatic message or need to check the address later in your session.

Known Limitations

• The mod only works on multiplayer servers, not in single‑player worlds.

• If you join via a direct IP address (like "192.168.1.1"), that IP will be shown as the hostname.

• The command only works while you are connected to a server; it will show an error message if used in a single‑player world or on the main menu.

Frequently Asked Questions

IPFinder server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.11). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is IPFinder compatible with fabric?

IPFinder officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.21.11. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with IPFinder – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if IPFinder consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
