About this Mod

Description

Feels weird that copper oxidizes but iron doesn't? Well... this small mod solves that by implementing oxide into iron in a seamless way for a nice vanilla integration

Multiplayer implementation is done so it also works in Multiplayer games as long as both Client+Server have the mod installed. On the other hand, the Mod will be automatically self-disabled if you connect to a server that doesn't have the mod installed

Installation

Download and drop the correct .jar file based on the ModLoader you're using into the mods folder located at Minecraft's root folder

Uninstallation

I've also made an Uninstaller-Mod-Tool (Local worlds only) that automatically reverts all oxidized iron to Vanilla one during normal gameplay. The IronRust-Uninstaller can only be found in the Releases Page.

Uninstall guide

To use the uninstaller, remove IronRust mod from your mods folder and place the IronRust-Wipe file there, then start Minecraft and load your world.

You can either play normally and let IronRust-Wipe do its magic in the background, or perform a cleanup-proccess (basically visit every place with IronRust content) then remove the IronRust-Wipe mod file after

The procedure is simple: it replaces IronRust IDs with vanilla ones during chunk-reading (works on world blocks, dropped items, entities, block entities, nested entities, inventories, nested inventories... and basically everywhere), just make sure you visit every place that contains IronRust content. You can safelly remove the uninstaller mod file once you're sure enough that everything has been converted back to vanilla.

Frequently Asked Questions

IronRust server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.11). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is IronRust compatible with fabric and forge and neoforge?

IronRust officially supports fabric, forge, neoforge for Minecraft 1.21.11, 1.21.10, 1.21.9. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with IronRust – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if IronRust consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
