Jay's Ores - Technical Expansion

Target Version: This project is strictly locked to Fabric 26.1.

Version Note: I am pretty sure this will work with 26.1.1, but since I never tested this mod on that version, I will not tell you it works on that version. My test environment is 26.1, and my server is 26.1.2. So proceed with caution if you are using that version.

Overview

This project is focused on the expansion of Minecraft’s metals and gems, adding new metals including aluminum, tin, lead, silver, and zinc, as well as gems like rubies, sapphires, and garnet. This is not a content dump mod. It is a technical implementation designed for long-term stability and balanced survival play. There was a bit of geological research that went into this mod in an attempt to make the ores feel close to real life. But while trying to avoid robbing the players of the game-like feel.

Intent

This is a personal mod I have designed as a hobby to enhance the gameplay of my personal server. I decided to share it with any adults who want to play with it as well. If interested, we could try to arrange a suitable time where you can see this mod in action firsthand before downloading. This helps me to learn and encourages new ideas. The project will continue to expand over time.

Current Feature Set

• Custom Ores: Integrated world generation for four new metal ores and two new gemstone ores.
• Custom Metals: Added new metals that can be smelted into ingots, turned into nuggets, or metal blocks.
• Custom Gems: Three new gems have been added to the game.
• Garnet: Garnet can be found by digging up gravel.
• Trace Elements: Trace elements can be found while mining, which can then be smelted into nuggets.
• Shimmers: Precious ores and gem ores will shimmer. This also includes vanilla ores like diamonds, gold, and emerald ore.

Dependencies: Fabric API 0.145.4+26.1.2

Compatibility: This mod uses standard c:tags for all metals and gems to ensure compatibility with other tech and storage mods.

Maintenance: This version will receive support and updates throughout 2026.

World Maintenance & MCA Selector
As this mod expands, I will occasionally add new ores. Keep in mind, I only intend to add new world generation items, few and far between updates. When I do, I will add as much as I can at one time to get it out of the way as soon as possible. To ensure you can find these new materials in your existing worlds without traveling to unexplored chunks, I recommend using MCA Selector found in the link below.

MCA Selector

This will allow you to selectively delete chunks that have already been explored without destroying your player's bases. Then you can add the new version of this mod and start your server back up. The new ores should generate in those places. In a way, with those unused chunks being regenerated, your players may feel rewarded with fresh land right in their backyard.

Future Updates: Migration to version 27.1 is planned for early 2027.

Requests: Requests for backports or updates to minor 26.x snapshots will be ignored. This is a stability-first project.
