Kelp was introduced in 1.13, causing numerous performance problems both server and client side, and it's only purpose was to bring a bit more life to the ocean. It's only "good" feature was it's use as food, even then it only heals the bare minimum of half a heart.

So, I decided to remove it completely with a mod, and after a bit of tweaking, the dreaded kelp is finally gone.

How to Install Kelp Remover on Your Server

Order Server

Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 4 GB RAM (6 GB recommended).

Set fabric Loader

In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (1.21.1).

Install Mod

Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Kelp Remover". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.
