Knarfy's Ruined Sulfur Cubes

Adds terrible versions of the new Sulfur Features!

(PLEASE remember that this mod is NOT supposed to be polished, and may lead to crashes or strange errors. Don't use this mod on a world you like!)

The original concepts for all of these features come from the first Minecraft Live of 2026 and are designed to make these features completely dumb and hilarious. Textures were re-created based on screenshots, and are not 1 to 1 replicas. There are a lot of creative liberties that had to be taken to get these done fast.
But, we did manage to also accomplish some really fun things. Minigames with the features in this mod are so much fun, and I highly recommend trying them out!

Mod Features:

Sulfur Cave Biome

• Underground cave biome with naturally generating sulfur and cinnabar blocks
• Rare spawn — restricted to dry humidity zones (similar rarity to lush caves)
• Floor-to-ceiling pillar features and water pools (with potent sulfur)
• Sulfur cubes spawn naturally here

Sulfur Cubes

• Can be picked up and placed as blocks by right-clicking
• Feed sulfur dust to grow larger (up to size 8)
• Babies spawn on death and grow up after 5 minutes
• Shear with shears to shrink or strip a variant

Variants — right-click a sulfur cube with the listed item to transform it:

• TNT Cube (TNT) — approaches players and explodes like a creeper. Can be ignited with flint & steel or fire charge. Explosion scales with size
• Tennis Cube (Lime Wool) — arcing launch with floor bounces and wall reflection
• Soccer Cube (White Concrete) — ground-rolling with friction, wall bounces, higher step height to go up slopes
• Hockey Cube (Polished Blackstone Slab) — flat ice-like sliding with very low friction
• Bubble Cube (Glass) — floats upward, bounces off walls/ceilings/floors in 3D, tumble-spins
• Jukebox Cube (Jukebox) — tennis-like bouncing with note block sounds. Insert a music disc to play music as it moves

All sport variants can deal collision damage to entities when launched at high speed (as long as the correct Gamerule is enabled!).

Blocks

• Sulfur — base block, full building set (polished, chiseled, bricks, stairs, slabs, walls)
• Cinnabar — secondary cave block, full building set (polished, chiseled, bricks, stairs, slabs, walls)
• Potent Sulfur — emits full redstone signal, flammable
• Ash Pile — decorative block crafted from ash, spawns in basalt deltas
• Cinnabun — edible pastry block found in sulfur caves

Items

• Sulfur Dust — dropped by sulfur cubes, crafted from sulfur blocks, used to feed/grow them and craft fertilizer
• Ash — crafting ingredient for ash piles and fertilizer
• Sulfur Fertilizer — crafted from sulfur dust + ash + bone meal. Bonemeals a 3x3 area in one use

Gamerules

• sulfurCubesDamagePlayers — toggle collision damage to players (default: off)
• sulfurCubesDamageEntities — toggle collision damage to mobs (default: off)
• disableCubePickup — prevent players from picking up cubes (default: off)
• disableCubeSplitting — prevent cubes from spawning babies on death (default: off)

Commands

• /killsulfurcubes — removes all sulfur cubes across all dimensions
• /killvariants — removes all non-base variant cubes only
