Ladders Made Better
Ladders Made Better aims to make ladders more efficient, useful and better!
About this Mod
Ladders Made Better
Vanilla ladders are slow, difficult to place efficiently, have limitations of support and don't feel usable
Ladders Made Better! aims to make ladders more usable by adding functionalities like :
Multiple Ladder Placement using mouse scroll
- Now you can place multiple ladders in upward/downward direction by scrolling the mouse button and selecting the number of ladders you want to place
Floating ladder placement
- Ladders can be placed floating if they have a sturdy support above them (so floating chains can be placed if ladders are placed downwards - and also configurable for upward chains)
Increased Ladder Climb speed
- Increased the ladder climb speed from the slow 0.2 to a configurable 0.2-0.5 (0.4 by default)
Jumping made possible from standing on ladders
- Now you can easily jump on/from ladders without any stuttering or momentum breaking movement
The great thing about the mod, is that its entirely configurable so that you don't have to strictly play on values set by someone else
Feel free to drop any issues regarding the mod in the comment section - that helps in making the mod more error free!
Functions in detail:
How to configure? : Run the mod once, and then go to the .minecraft/versions/<neoforge version>config folder. Find the lmb-common.toml, open it using any text editor, and change the values as per your liking (Note that values are set to a max limit which is written above the field in order to avoid exploitation), save the file and you are good to go!
MultiLadder Placement : Works only if the canPlaceMultipleLadders field in the config file is set to true (already set to true by default). If ladders are held in hand, a small text Place ladders : x/total ladders in inventory (bound by max limit) appears on the screen.
Hold the scrolling button (can be changed in controls -> key binds, set to Left Control by default)
and scroll the mouse wheel to set the x number of ladders to be placed. A maximum configurable 128-400 ladders from the inventory can be placed in one go to avoid lagging (change totalLaddersPerPlace value)
[Also to note that floating ladders in a chain, can be only placed when placing downwards, as placing upwards requires every ladder to have a support (even this is configurable by changing shouldPlaceFloatingLaddersUpwards to true)]
Ladder climb speed : Made ladder climb speed faster, configurable by changing ladderClimbSpeed
(Apologies for a bad-formatted description lol)
Enjoy!
