🤔 What is Legion?

Legion is a mod enhancing the base Minecraft tooltips by displaying more information and in a better way than how Mojang does it.

💡 Features

🧙‍♀️ Advanced potion tooltips

Not only displaying the potion effects in a much prettier way, but also providing more information on the stat changes (strength gives attack damage, haste attack speed, etc.):

Potions now display the statistics and effects in a way that is easier on the eyes.

⚔️ Armor & Trim Preview

Hovering over a piece of equipment, a shield or a trim now reveals how it would look on the player in a preview box:

The armor trim preview even displays random variation of that trim (random material, random equipment) to properly show its pattern!

⏰ Item Cooldowns

Legion also shows for how long an item is on cooldown!

Yes.

Can you port this to Forge/Neoforge/Quilt?

No. I only make mods for Fabric and won't port them for other mod loaders.

If you want to make a branch of Legion for another loader, join the Discord and ask for the permission in the Help channel. It will almost always be given, but please ask first.

Can you backport the mod to version `x.xx`?

No. I make mods for the latest version of the game and will not backport them.

How to Install Legion on Your Server

Order Server

Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).

Set fabric Loader

In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (1.21.11).

Install Mod

Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Legion". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Frequently Asked Questions

Legion server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.11). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is Legion compatible with fabric?

Legion officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.21.11. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with Legion – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Legion consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
