About this Mod
Phantoms are a very cool idea for a mob. However, their coolness is often overwritten by how annoying they are, and their uncapitalized potential.
Changes
- Phantoms deal no Knockback
- For me this was the most annoying thing about them so I made sure to tweak this
- Note: Phantoms can still kind of push the player, but their hits do no knockback
- Phantoms vanish when they are hit or when they hit you
- Phantoms deal more damage (Because they disapear when hit)
- Phantoms give the player weakness when they hit
I tried to keep the phantoms balanced while making them easier to deal with and less annoying, and more like the hallucinatory creatures they are meant to be.

How to Install Less Annoying Phantoms on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set datapack Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the datapack loader and matching Minecraft version (1.21.5).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Less Annoying Phantoms". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Most common cause: wrong datapack version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.5). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Less Annoying Phantoms consumes the most tick time.
