The Live Texture Editor Mod lets you modify blocks, items, entities, and GUI elements instantly.

Key Features
Block Editor
- Look at any block and press
R(default) to open its texture. - Edit individual faces (top, bottom, sides) separately.
- Changes apply instantly in the world without reloading.
Item & Entity Editor
- Edit mob textures directly (Zombie, Creeper, etc.).
- Modify item icons with pixel-perfect precision.
- Spawn egg integration opens the corresponding mob texture automatically.
GUI & HUD Editor
- Customize hotbar, crosshair, hearts, hunger, and XP bar.
- Edit inventories, crafting tables, furnaces, chests, and more.
- Supports both standalone textures and sprite atlases.

How to Use
Controls
J(Default) – Enable the Live Texture Editor.R(Default) – Open the editor for the block or entity you are looking at.X(Default) – Hold to see the world without your changes
In the Editor
- Left Click – Draw / Use tool
- Right Click + Drag – Pan canvas
- Scroll Wheel – Zoom
- Y and Z – Undo / Redo
- G – Toggle grid
Applying Changes
- Apply live updates instantly in your session.
- Export the pack to save all applied textures.
- Reset to revert to the original texture (Vanilla or active resource pack).

Works seamlessly with other resource packs.
Active texture packs are loaded as the base, and your edits visually override them. Exported packs can be placed on top of existing packs.
Known Limitations
- Non-cube blocks (Beds, Stairs, Slabs, Fences, Chests, etc.) are currently disabled to avoid mapping errors. Support for complex models is planned.
Installation
- Install Fabric Loader.
- Install Fabric API.
- Place the mod
.jarfile into yourmodsfolder. - Launch Minecraft.

How to Install Live Texture Editor on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set fabric Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (1.21.11).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Live Texture Editor". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Live Texture Editor server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.11). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Live Texture Editor compatible with fabric?
Live Texture Editor officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.21.11, 1.21.10, 1.21.5. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Live Texture Editor – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Live Texture Editor consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
