Adds a server-side user interface for viewing loaded mods to Minecraft.

Mod Viewer requires the Fabric modloader and Fabric API.

Installation

  1. Install Fabric API if it is not installed.
  2. Download Mod Viewer from CurseForge or GitHub.
  3. Place the downloaded file in your mods folder.

Usage

When this mod is installed, permitted players will be able to use the /modviewer command to display the mod viewer user interface. This interface will show a paginated list of mods to select from. Information about the selected mod will be shown, including the mod's name, description, authors, and dependencies.

Permissions

By default, the /modviewer command is available to level two operators. If a permission mod that supports permission keys is installed, then the modviewer.command permission key controls availability instead.

Frequently Asked Questions

Mod Viewer server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is Mod Viewer compatible with fabric?

Mod Viewer officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.21.1, 1.21, 1.20.6. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with Mod Viewer – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Mod Viewer consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
