Adds Monkey's Paw with mechanics similar to Phasmophobia
About this Mod
Monkey's Paw is a relic from William Wymark Jacobs's horror story, nowadays the item was mainly popularized by the game Phasmophobia which was the main inspiration for this mod
Monkey's Paw is a Fabric mod that adds as you would have guessed a Monkey's Paw. The item can grant wishes with balanced(hopefully) consequences. The amount of wishes left is indicated by the number of unbent fingers. To wish you need to hold Monkey's Paw in your main hand and enter command /wish #wish text# (e.g. /wish I wish for clear weather).
The item can be found in the woodland mansion in any chest. Also you will be able to find name tags with wishes written on them.
Wish options:
Weather
- I wish for clear weather
- I wish for rainy weather
- I wish for thunderstorm
(grants effect of Nightmare for 40m which doesn't allow player to sleep and spawns phantoms at night)
Time change
- I wish for daytime
- I wish for nighttime
(also grants Nightmare effect for 40m)
Other
- I wish to be unseen (grants Invisibility and Darkness effects for 10m with particles turned off)
- I wish to escape (teleports player to a random location in 5000 block radius + grants Blindness and Resistance effects for 10s)
- I wish to sacrifice my stomach (restores player's hp for the cost of their food level + grants Regeneration and Hunger effects for 20s)
- I wish to risk my life (with 50% chance player is granted Second Chance effect for 40m that works like a totem of undying, otherwise player is granted Inevitable Death effect for 40m that will deal lethal amount of damage when the effect runs out)
- I wish for strength (grants Vulnerability and Divine Sword effects for 40m, first will double the damage received by player, second will double the damage that is dealt by player)
And finally, Monkey's Paw custom effects cannot be removed using milk or honey and you cannot wish for something that grants you same custom effect as you have.

How to Install Monkey's Paw on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set fabric Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (1.21.3).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Monkey's Paw". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.3). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Monkey's Paw consumes the most tick time.
