Night's Light adds realistic, working fireflies to Minecraft. Made for Forge (1.20.1 and below) and NeoForge (1.20.4 and onwards - coming soon).
!!!NEWS!!!
Version 1.20.4 and upwards will all be for NeoForge. 1.20.4 will come out when Citadel and JEI is ported to 1.20.4 NeoForge
There will probably be no Version 1.20.2 or 1.20.3, because neither Citadel nor JEI support these Versions for NeoForge
Support for 1.19.4 is now finally out! But that's not all: also support for 1.20 and 1.20.1 is now out too.

!!!IMPORTANT!!!
if you have EVER USED the MOD in a LOWER VERSION before, you HAVE TO DELET the 'firefly_spawns.json' MANUALY, start minecraft with the mod again and than the file will recreate itself, otherwise the fireflies will not spawn!!!

This is the first mod I ever made (except for the learning mods) and also one of my first big Java projects, so for some the code could be horrible. Im open for suggestions for improvement and ideas!

Available Versions
How to Install Night's Light on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set forge Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the forge loader and matching Minecraft version (1.20.1).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Night's Light". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Night's Light server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong forge version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Night's Light compatible with forge?
Night's Light officially supports forge for Minecraft 1.20.1, 1.20, 1.19.4. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Night's Light – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Night's Light consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
