About this Mod

Small mod to change individual players' armour visibility. Purely cosmetic.

Current features:

  • "/nileca set playerSelector all|head|torso|leggings|boots true|false" to set the armour visibility of players
  • "/nileca list playerSelector" to list the armour visibility of the players in chat
  • A text config file is used to control the command permissions. The path to the file is ".minecraft/config/nileca" (it has no extension). The first line contains an integer specifying the minimum permission level to use the nileca commands. It defaults to 4 if the file is not found (server op iirc).
  • Armour visibility is saved between sessions (world loads).

Roadmap:
  • Better config: expected by October 2023

Since this mod is so simple, I plan to keep updating it.
HUGE thanks to CCA, the fabric team and the mixin team!

Frequently Asked Questions

nileca server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is nileca compatible with fabric?

nileca officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.20.1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with nileca – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if nileca consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
