About this Mod

Last night, I was gliding around ingame in Batman: Arkham City, and took notice of the bricks. I mean, it's Gotham City, there are bricks everywhere. But I was thinking, "It'd be nice if we had more brick variants in Minecraft. Even just more colors would give us so much."

I've seen 'stained bricks' or otherwise recolored bricks added by other mods and ended up not using them much. I honestly just don't use bricks much. But I thought, why not try my hand at it? Another stained brick mod out there won't hurt. And then I tried out 'staining' bricks black... and oh. It was pretty. And the decision was made.

This is probably not going to be confined to bricks. Name aside, it's possible this is where I'll lob future 'huh, I want this to build a city' blocks I come up with. But for now, enjoy 16 stained brick variants, each with its own stairs, slab and wall!

Crafting is the same as staining glass - 8 plain brick blocks with a dye in the middle. You get back 8 dyed brick blocks. You can dye brick stairs, slabs and walls too, and craft any dyed bricks into said stairs/slabs/walls. The stonecutter recipes are also enabled.

There may still be bugs, but I tried my best to hunt down everything and get it polished and working. Still, let me know if you find any - or especially if you have any suggestions! Drop by our Discord server, we'd love to hear any ideas.

Frequently Probably asked questions

Q: Will you update this to 1.21+?

A: Yes, in time. My life is up in the air right now but I do intend to keep this and all my mods updated, it's just that right now eating is a higher priority than figuring out item components.

Q: Is this compatible with Dye Depot?

A: It doesn't crash, but it doesn't have any stained bricks for Dye Depot's colors. I'm working on that in a seperate compatibility mod, which will also rename this mod's Light Blue/Gray blocks according to Dye Depot's renaming of them. It's lower priority for now unless it turns out I'm not the only one who wants it. (If you grab this mod and have Dye Depot and want Dye Depot stained bricks, come poke me and I'll increase its NICE level.)

Q: Forge?

A: No.

Q: But seriously, Forge?

A: No.
