About this Mod

Build with glass like it’s a box of coloured candy. Opaque adds a full set of glass building parts in every vanilla glass color (plus clear) doors, trapdoors, fences, fence gates, and stairs. They look airy and bright but still behave like the blocks you already know open, close, swing, and connect cleanly so your builds build.

Use clear glass doors for modern apartments, drop trapdoors into skylights, floor hatches, and compact crawlspaces. Run glass fences around balconies, gardens, and animal pens when you want safety without the chunky wall vibe, then snap in matching gates for tidy entrances. Stairs let you shape almost invisible ramps (from more than 10 block appear away 100% transparent), amphitheatres, elegant roofs made of color, all while keeping that light, see-through feel. Snap in magenta or cyan or lime trap door a quick filp you have a window. A rainbow of color in Snow bases with white or clear glass staircases to crystal towers.

Mix colors for gradient towers, neon shopfronts, or rainbow bridges over rivers. Combine fences with trapdoors for railings and catwalk details, or frame windows with matching stairs for a clean architectural edge.

Everything crafts in familiar patterns, so you’ll be building in seconds, not hunting recipes. The parts play nicely together, and the fences connect smoothly for satisfying, seamless runs.

It’s simple to craft, easy to style, functional and ridiculously satisfying to see sunlight spill through your builds.

Frequently Asked Questions

Opaque server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.11). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is Opaque compatible with fabric?

Opaque officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.21.11. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with Opaque – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Opaque consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
