About this Mod

Othertime

No longer stuck in the past.

Othertime is a mod that adds modern, industrial, and futuristic-based content to Minecraft. It is intended to be functional and decorative, and is completely Survival friendly!

Current Features (as of version 2.0.0):

  • New Ore: Stallium! A new ore found only in the Overworld! Can be crafted into a new blockset!
  • New Ore: Omenon! A new ore found only in the Nether! Can be crafted into a new blockset!
The new ores come with blocks, plating, chiseled blocks, treads, bars, trusses, fences, glass, doors, trapdoors, walls, stairs, and slabs!
  • New Ore (Gas): Neon! Neon Gas can be bottled when right clicking a Neon Gas Vein with an empty bottle! Can be crafted into a variety of glowing blocks!
  • New Ore (Gas): Hydrogen! A new gas found only in the Nether! Can also be bottled, but can't be crafted into blocks. Instead, Hydrogen can be crafted into Wind Charges and Breeze Rods!
  • New Storage Block: Stallium Barrel!
  • New Storage Block: Filing Cabinet! Also gives enchanting power!
  • New Storage Block: Fridge!
  • New Storage Block: Stallium Locker!
  • New Storage Block: Toolchest!
  • New Feature: Waxed Copper can now be dyed in all 16 colors, and can also be chipped to give a worn appearance!
  • New Fluid: Liquid Cement! This viscous liquid will dry into Light Gray Concrete Powder over time. Very handy for filling holes, creating large flat areas, and (with a bit of ingenuity) building walls and buildings!
  • New Functional Block: Cementrifuge! Right clicking this block with an empty bucket will give you Liquid Cement.
  • New Villager Profession: Laborer! Trades Emeralds for resources and building supplies! Uses the Cementrifuge as a workstation.
  • New Functional Block: Desiccator! Given Redstone power, this block will extinguish any fires in a large area around it, making it a great way to prevent fires from spreading out of control.
  • New Functional Block: Humidifer! Geven Redstone power, this block will moisturize farmland and apply bonemeal to blocks around it (up to 4 blocks away from it in any direction). A great way to accelerate crop growth, and allows for farming with moist soil even in the Nether!
  • New Functional Block: Generator! When Right Clicked, the Generator will be toggled on and off. When on, it emits a smoke, and provides Redstone power! Can also be waterlogged!
  • New Functional Block: Redstone Breaker! A new source of Redstone power with a nice aesthetic!
  • New Functional Block: Latrine! Given Mud-convertible blocks, a Bucket of Water, and a quick flush, the Latrine will convert Mud-convertible blocks into Mud in bulk! No more having to constantly use Water Bottles to make single blocks of Mud!
  • New Functional Block: Sink! Can fill buckets in hand with Water when Right Clicked!
  • New Block: Chainlink! A cheap but flimsy early-game substitute for fences and walls. Great for quickly securing an area and keeping mobs out!
  • New Block: Stepladder! A sturdy, cheap, and compact alternative to traditional stair blocks. Also gives off a nice industrial vibe!
  • New Block: Caution Block! A decorative block that signifies a hazardous area.
  • New Plant: Bulbroot! A new plant found only in the Nether. It looks eerily similar to a lamppost, and provides light. It can also be used as fuel to smelt 4 items, making it a renewable and decorative fuel and light source! They can also be grown on any solid surface
  • New Plant: Dialily! These tall flowers are found in forest biomes in the Overworld, and can be crafted into Sticks. They are renewable, and are a great means of getting Sticks quickly without having to chop down trees.
  • New Tool: Screwdriver! A handy tool for changing the look of various blocks in the mod! It can be used on grates, pipes, tubing, and trusses!
  • New Explosive: Roomer! The Roomer can be armed by crafting it with a block of TNT. It can then be placed down to mine out a large (one might even go as far as to say... ROOM SIZED) area above it. It will disarm when finished mining, and can then be rearmed.
  • New fuel source: Organic Biofuel! Made from various renewable organic materials found in both the Overworld and the Nether, this pungent concoction is an incredibly effective fuel source! It can smelt 500 items before running out (for reference, a Lava Bucket only smelts 100 items)! Some might go as far as to say it's unreasonably renewable.
  • New utility item: Global Position Scanner (GPS)! While Compasses tell you where your spawn/Lodestone is, the GPS will tell you your coordinates and the direction you're facing when right-clicked. This can help IMMENSELY when looking at buried treasure maps (or any maps in general).
  • New functional block: Washer! Given Redstone power and a damaged tool/item, the Washer will repair the item slowly over time! Depending on what mods you use, you can also change the amount of durability repaired each tick in the config file. You no longer have to let all your tools break without mending! Be warned though, the Washer is NOT inexpensive to make, and it cannot be automated.
  • New functional block: Mineral Scalpel! When placed next to an ore of any kind (i.e. any block under the #c:ores tag), the Mineral Scalpel will slowly extract resources from the ore block. It can even be used on Ancient Debris! Beware though, the process of crafting such a powerful tool is NOT for the faint of heart. The payoff is immensely worth the trouble however, as it essentially makes any resource that comes from an ore renewable.

You are more than welcome to use this mod in your modpack, as well as create addons and resource packs for it. All I ask is that you link back to this modpage and credit me (Send4Kolchak).

Please report any bugs/issues you find. Also feel free to leave any feedback you have. This mod is made using MCreator.
But above all else, please enjoy!

Frequently Asked Questions

Othertime server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong neoforge version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is Othertime compatible with neoforge?

Othertime officially supports neoforge for Minecraft 1.21.1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with Othertime – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Othertime consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
