Out Of Sight
Can drastically improve frame rates by limiting how far away tile entities and entities can render, with configurable ranges.
About this Mod
Tired of your neighbors giant modded factory base (that you can't even see most of the time) lowering your framerate? This mod is what you need!
Out of Sight simply stops modded tile entities from rendering if they are further than 24 blocks away, and you can configure this range to whatever works best for you in the config file.
It has support for entities as well, which some mods use for rendering fps-heavy features.
In a perfect world every mod is optimized and well tested together, but with modpacks commonly containing over 100 mods, this world does not exist. So I made this to make multiplayer modpacks more playable!
Pros:
Hugely better framerates near busy, complex bases containing lots of modded tile entities and entities (such as machines, lights, etc.)
Client side only mod
Cons:
- more obvious pop-in of said entities and tile entities as you get closer
To live tweak the config:
edit config/out_of_sight-client.toml as needed
run
/reloadconfig clientin minecraft (might not be needed, might auto reload)
Your mileage may vary depending on your modpack, but here's a video comparison with it On (left side) and Off (right side):
This video highlights how much the mod helps our particular servers case of bad framerates. There are times where the mod is getting 50 fps where without it is only 15 fps.
