About this Mod

Passive Mending (NeoForge)

Forget about holding items to mend them!

🛠 How it works

This is a server-side NeoForge mod. It automatically repairs your equipment using your XP bar.
The mod runs a check every second (20 ticks). If you have XP, it will repair items equipped in your Armor slots, Main Hand, and Off-hand.

✨ Features

  • Passive Repair: Repairs armor and held items automatically without needing to gather XP orbs.
  • Smart Conversion: Uses the standard vanilla ratio: 1 XP = 2 Durability.
  • Server-Side Only: Install it on the server, and vanilla clients can join without installing anything!

Frequently Asked Questions

Passive Mending server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong neoforge version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is Passive Mending compatible with neoforge?

Passive Mending officially supports neoforge for Minecraft 1.21.1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with Passive Mending – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Passive Mending consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
