About this Mod

Upgrade your spawners by placing an item frame anywhere on a spawner and placing the upgrade item into that frame. The upgrade item then gets consumed, emptying the item frame.
Available upgrades:

  • Eye of Ender: Entity spawn count (4 Upgrades. Up to 8 entities)
  • Heart of the Sea: Decrease maximum spawn delay (4 Upgrades. Down to 10 seconds)
  • Daylight Detector: Increase spawner activation range (4 Upgrades. Up to 80 blocks)
  • Echo Shard: Decrease spawn range for smaller farms (3 Upgrades. Down to 1 block)
  • Nether Star: Disable spawned entity AI (Single upgrade)

Disable the spawner by having a redstone torch placed inside an item frame that's on the spawner. Remove the redstone torch to resume the spawner.

Frequently Asked Questions

Upgradeable Spawners server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong datapack version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.11). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is Upgradeable Spawners compatible with datapack and fabric and forge and neoforge and quilt?

Upgradeable Spawners officially supports datapack, fabric, forge, neoforge, quilt for Minecraft 1.21.11, 1.21.10, 1.21.9. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with Upgradeable Spawners – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Upgradeable Spawners consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
