Performance+
Client-side Fabric mod with always-on FPS helpers and configurable culling for entities, block entities, particles, and smart view distance.
About this Mod
Performance+
Client-side Fabric mod — extra FPS helpers that run automatically, plus optional settings in Mod Menu.
[!IMPORTANT]
Performance+ only changes client rendering. It does not modify gameplay, servers, or world generation. Results depend on your PC, mods, and how many entities/particles are on screen.
What you get
Built-in (always on)
These run without toggles — you do not need to configure them:
- Fast clouds and light session video tweaks
- Culling of entities that are not visible to your camera
- Extra culling for items, XP orbs, armor stands, and item frames when FPS is low
- A small baseline reduction in particle spawning
- Temporary vanilla tweaks when FPS drops (e.g. entity shadows, entity render distance scaling, particles set to Minimal if you use All)
- Name tags hidden beyond 32 blocks (hard limit)
Configurable (Mod Menu)
Tune these if you want more control:
| Feature | What it does |
|---|---|
| Entity culling | Stops drawing entities past your distance (players are always shown) |
| Decorative entity distance | Shorter range for items, XP, frames, armor stands, etc. |
| Block entity culling | Skips distant chests, signs, spawners, and other block entities |
| Nametag culling | Hides name tags within your chosen range (inside the 32-block built-in cap) |
| Particle control | Extra particle skip chance and a max particle count |
| Smart render distance | Lowers or raises view distance and simulation distance based on FPS |
[!TIP]
Install Mod Menu (suggested) to open settings. Cloth Config is required. On first launch, Auto Optimizer can apply balanced defaults once — built-in boosts stay on either way.
[!NOTE]
It will not fix lag from slow CPUs, bad drivers, heavy shader packs, or server tick lag. It targets client render load.
Requirements
- Loader: Fabric
- Side: Client only
- Required: Fabric API, Cloth Config API
- Suggested: Mod Menu

Performance+ server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (26.1.2). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Performance+ compatible with fabric?
Performance+ officially supports fabric for Minecraft 26.1.2, 26.1.1, 26.1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Performance+ – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Performance+ consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
