About this Mod
Puffles Mod
This is just a silly mod I made that adds puffles, from Club Penguin, to the game. You will find these puffles, and the fruit in cold biomes (taiga, snowy taiga, snowy plains). Modded biomes that contain the "is_taiga" tag should also spawn both.
To tame a puffle, you'll need to feed it an "O' berry". Again, you can find these in bushes in cold biomes. You can also use the fruit to plant a bush.
Feeding the puffle will also heal it when hurt and
You can also use the Puffle Spawn Eggs in creative to spawn a puffle of a specific color. Spawning them through a spawner or command should spawn a puffle of a random color, unless you pass the variant through nbt (key: "variant". type: int). Here's an example if you need it:
/summon puffles:puffle ~ ~ ~ {variant:8}
^ This will spawn a black (variant=8) puffle
Here's a list of every variant value:
Variants
- Red (0)
- Blue (1)
- Green (2)
- Yellow (3)
- Orange (4)
- Purple (5)
- Brown (6)
- Pink (7)
- Black (8)
- White (9)
Crafting
Spoiler
I recently added an item for carrying your puffles more easily! The Puffle box. It can be crafted pretty easily too. See below for the recipe.
Puffle box

Yes, it's just a cardboard box. Don't ask me why
PS: No, I won't change what happens when you kill a puffle
PS2: Pls don't

Puffles server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 4 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20.6). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Puffles compatible with fabric?
Puffles officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.20.6, 1.20.1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Puffles – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 6 GB (per 5 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Puffles consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
